The 2023 WLA Prize Kicks Off Selection Process

We are thrilled to announce the official closure of nominations for the 2023 WLA Prize. The abundance of submissions received is a testament to the widespread interest and engagement from individuals and distinguished organizations at the forefront of their fields around the world.

The esteemed WLA Prize Selection Committees comprised of notable scientists and experts from across the globe, will now embark upon their rigorous review and selection process for both awards: "Computer Science or Mathematics" and "Life Science or Medicine." They will diligently evaluate each valid nomination, providing selection reports and shortlists to the WLA Awards Committee. The candidate evaluation will be completed by the Awards Committee before submission to the WLA Prize Management Committee for final confirmation.

We eagerly anticipate announcing the 2023 WLA Prize laureates in late August or early September. Thank you for your continued interest in the 2023 WLA Prize.

About Us
The World Laureates Association Prize (WLA Prize) is an international science prize established in Shanghai, in 2021, initiated by the World Laureates Association (WLA), managed by the WLA Foundation, and exclusively funded by Sequoia China.

The WLA Prize aims to recognize and support eminent researchers and technologists worldwide for their contributions to science. It is intended to support global science and technology advancement, address the challenges to humanity, and promote society's long-term progress.

Each year, the WLA Prize is awarded in two categories: the "WLA Prize in Computer Science or Mathematics" and the "WLA Prize in Life Science or Medicine."

The total award for each Prize, which may be divided among up to four laureates, is RMB 10 million.

The World Laureates Association (WLA) is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization of laureates. It is one of the world's highest-profile organizations of laureates with three missions: "promote basic science, advocate for international cooperation, and support the development of youth."
